Swing n Salsa Ball 21st June 08

We went to the Swing & Salsa Ball on Saturday. What a blast! Loved every minute. Music was great and the demos were amazing. We have only recently got into Salsa having come from Rockn Roll and we love it. So we got to use some RnR in the swing section. Trouble is Swing is cool too, so that might be the next style to get into. The combination of the two styles in one night was great, please do it again.
Cheers
Melissa and Trevor

Swing n Salsa Ball 21st June

Gabby,
well done to You and Frank on a fantastic nite. Great combination of Swing and Salsa. It was fun to give another dance style a try, and nice to see some different faces and meet new people. Thank you both and look forward to more in the future.
Darren.

Bachata Events

Good luck with making Bachata HUGE in Melbourne too... with your efforts in the 10 years on the Salsa scene I acknowledge you for the MASSIVE impact you've made in the fun, expression, social and love lives of Melbournians... from the big scary things that you do, to the little things that no one will ever know that you did... truely inspirational and as you take it into Bachata it can only rock our worlds.
catch you tonight!

Salsa Beats - Yarra Valley May 31st 08

Hey Gabby,
It's Anna from salsa beats - Jarrad and I were talking to you and Frank at the end of the night, we thought that you guys were so great! And we had such a fun night - I thought I might look up Melbourne Salsa on Facebook and 'behold!' there it was!! Have joined the group and am going to keep an eagle eye out for up-coming events, who knows - maybe we might even be able to come down for a couple of lessons so that you guys can teach us how to shake and groove!! (You guys do it so, so well!)
Thanks again!! We had a blast - and I think I can safely say that everyone else did too!!

St Kilda Town Hall event hosted on the 29th March 08

Hi Gabby
Just wanted to say thank you to the Melbourne Salsa team for a fantastic night on Saturday. And I was impressed that you participated in Earth Hour despite the scale of the event.

I was wondering if you are planning on holding regular salsa events at the town hall now? (I heard whispers of this on Saturday night.)

Many thanks again
Louise

Salsa Cruise hosted in December 2007

Hi Frank,

Just a quick note to thank you for organising such a wonderful cruise. No rain could stop us from having a good time. Everything was great, the food, the band, fantastic DJ, Gigi was very sweet and accomodating even though she ran around like a headless chook.

Also a special thank you for coming up and asking me for a dance at Alumbra which I thought was very gentlemanly of you. It was the highlight for me as it is not often that I dance with someone that can make any woman look good on the dancefloor.

Have a Merry Christmas and a fantasic New Year!

See you at the Radii Bar!

Salsa dance class at Il Portobello in Essendon

Hi Gabby & Frank

I want to thankyou for all the wonderful salsa lessons your team has provided us with, at il portobello venue. It has given me an opportunity not only, to learn salsa but also to make some wonderful and long lasting friendships.

Since Wednesday is our final class for this year would it be at all possible to send us Jose and Chrissy to instruct the intermediate class.
Thanks!!

Hope you both have a Merry Christmas and we will definatley see you in the New Year...

Johnston Street Festival November 2007

Dear Frank,

I am writing to thank you for your involvement with the Johnston St Spanish Festival last weekend.

The fiesta was a great success, with thousands of people turning up to enjoy the entertainment, dancing and Hispanic cuisine.

Your role, as a dance instructor and performer, was central to the success of the weekend. After all, what is a fiesta without any entertainment?

Thank you, once again, for your involvement in this important community event: a celebration of unity and intercultural friendship.

Even though your participation didn't exactly overwhelm your bank account (we were on a very tight budget!) you certainly helped to teach Melbournians how to have a good time.

Warm Regards,

Lydia Brown

Salsa dance class at the Grosvenor Hotel in St Kilda

Thank you for the most fun I have ever had in a salsa class!
usually people do it by the book and one shuffles 2mm to the right and another to the left which is why I usually skip it to tread on people's feet instead, but here there was such a sense of fun and humour and delicate lacework and the details were such highlights that I wouldn't miss it for the world...

your new one day,
one day going to be
an old - friend

Salsa dance class at Il Portobello's in Essendon

Dear Gabby,

Congratulations on having such wonderful instructors as part of your team. My friends and l attend your intermediate class in Essendon on a Wednesday night, and truly look forward to seeing Jose and Christina take the lesson. Their class is filled with easy to follow instructions, tips, and especially from a girls point, Christina shows how it's done right when it comes to styling. By the end of class we always come away knowing that we've learned a great routine.

Jose always asks if anyone need extra help and monitors to make sure that we are doing the steps correct. During break or end of class he makes an effort to help anyone who requires it.

As a student we find it helpful when the instructors dance with us and give us points on how to improve, Jose definitely does this.

We hope to see this couple more and more in Essendon!!!

Great Job Guys!

Cheers!
Your Intermediate Students.
